This specialised training is designed for arts therapists seeking to adapt their practice for clients with vision impairment. Led by a qualified Dramatherapist, Habilitation Specialist for children and young people with vision impairment, and Clinical Supervisor, this session provides a unique opportunity to explore how therapeutic techniques across various modalities can be modified to meet the needs of this population.
Full Description
Participants will explore the specific challenges faced by individuals with vision impairment, such as isolation, communication barriers, and the need for personalised therapeutic approaches. The training underscores the importance of expanding provision to better serve this often-underrepresented client group, ensuring that your practice is inclusive and responsive to their needs.

Through a blend of hands-on activities, case studies, and peer discussions, you'll gain practical insights into working with clients experiencing sensory challenges. The session also offers a platform for participants to share their experiences—whether in client work or personal journeys with sensory loss—creating a rich, collaborative learning environment.

This training is open to all arts therapists, including trainees, with no expectation of previous experience working with this client group. Ideal for arts therapists from all disciplines, this training will equip you with the tools to overcome these unique challenges and enhance your ability to support the emotional and social development of those with sensory impairments. Join us for this dynamic session and contribute to expanding access and provision in your therapeutic practice.
