Full Description
This training, Introduction to Polyvagal Theory (PVT), will outline the organising principles and key elements of PVT to support understanding of our autonomic nervous system in response to stress and trauma. I have created something accessible for use as psychoeducation with clients (and also for school staff if your clients are young people as an offer of CPD training), with useful analogies which supports understanding over the complex technical terminology than can make Polyvagal Theory a little confusing and intimidating!

Claire Quigley is a qualified Dramatherapist (University of Derby) and Neuro-Dramatic Play Practitioner (NDP):
"Since graduation, I have worked predominantly with young people with trauma and attachment difficulties and those who have been adopted. My current role is Wellbeing Coordinator and Dramatherapist at an alternative school provision for young people aged 10-18 with SEMH and school based trauma based in Manchester. I have also involved with The Arts For The Blues (AFTB) project with Edge Hill and Salford University since 2019. The aim is to provide creative arts therapy groups within IAPT services, as well as integrate creative therapies across a wide spectrum of mental health provisions, across all ages within the NHS. The latest project that I am involved with is training up Manchester CAMHS practitioners to incorporate the AFTB model into their work."
