Showcase your good practice in the Museums Association's new online course...
Our wellbeing campaign aims to:
- Work with museums to raise awareness and showcase good practice so that they can put in place programmes and support for their workforce and for the communities they serve
- Work to improve wellbeing within the workforce through advice, support and programmes
- Work with museums to actively support community wellbeing
One of our campaign commitments is to support the wellbeing of the museum workforce through training. We initiated this work in early 2024 with six face-to-face workshops for leaders, managers and team leaders. In August 2024 we ran follow-up sessions for those participants, and now we are developing an online learning course reflecting the content delivered. The new course will be available to all MA members.
To support the development of the course and participants’ learning, we’re looking for case studies of good practice in this area of work. These could be about interventions for staff, volunteers and freelancers, or programmes for communities.
A suggested case study structure is outlined below, but we welcome other ways of sharing insights and learning:
Background to the organisation, project or intervention
What was put in place?
What were the outcomes?
Details of any learning or legacy
Please also submit an image to accompany your case study and details for a contact at your organisation. Case studies should be around 300-600 words.
Please send your completed case studies to cpd@museumsassociation.org by 31 October 2024. If you’d like to ask a question or discuss your case study, please email Tamsin Russell, workforce development lead, via tamsin@museumsassociation.org.
