Intro to TSM Psychodrama: Learn practical action methods to safely navigate trauma, intensity, and dissociation in therapy. No experience needed.
Full Description

Discover how Therapeutic Spiral Model (TSM) Psychodrama can bring greater safety, confidence, and creativity to trauma-informed drama therapy practice. Developed by Dr Kate Hudgins, TSM integrates psychodrama, attachment theory, and the neurobiology of trauma into a practical, strengths-based framework for working safely with emotional intensity, avoidance, and dissociation.

Throughout this action-based workshop, gain an understanding of the core principles of TSM through a combination of theory, demonstration, practice, and reflection. Experience the Mini Theatre, explore strength roles through movement, engage in role interviews, and work with embodied and creative methods that can be readily adapted for both individual and group drama therapy.

Leave with practical TSM techniques that can enrich your therapeutic practice and strengthen your confidence in working with trauma. Whether you are new to TSM or looking to broaden your repertoire of action methods, this workshop offers practical tools and fresh perspectives for integrating TSM Psychodrama into your drama therapy practice. No previous experience with TSM or psychodrama is required.

Learning objectives:
- Gain an understanding of the core principles of Therapeutic Spiral Model (TSM) Psychodrama, and how it creates safety for deep therapeutic action.
- Experience a range of TSM action methods and role-based interventions that help work with emotional intensity, avoidance and dissociation while maintaining therapeutic containment.
- Leave with TSM psychodrama techniques that enrich both individual and group drama therapy practice with greater confidence, safety and effectiveness.

Why:
- This is an introductory workshop designed to give participants a feel for TSM Psychodrama in action.
- You will experience practical interventions and leave with techniques that can be incorporated into your own therapeutic practice, while gaining an appreciation of the wider depth of the TSM approach.
- TSM Psychodrama is a rich experiential approach, and further training and supervision would be needed to practise the model in depth.
