Full Description

BADth hosts: A Research and Practice Perspective on the Drama Therapy Core Process: Operationalizing, Observing, and Coding

Beginning in 2019, and completed in 2022, The Drama Therapy Core Processes Delphi study was conducted by the research committee of the North American Dramatherapy Association (NADTA) and investigated the communal conceptualization and operationalization from a North American perspective of identified drama therapy core processes, as previously described and outlined by Dr. Phil Jones.

This presentation will overview the conceptualization and organization of the research project, including its design, results, and next steps within the larger research trajectory currently underway. Since the publication of the Delphi results, the research team has worked to apply these findings to recorded examples of drama therapy practice. This is an ongoing research exploration with the goal of working towards measurement development.

Thus far the research has centered the perspectives of North American drama therapists and this presentation actively seeks to access voices from the British dramatherapy community on the form and content of the results, inviting cross-regional dialogue between members of NADTA and BADth.
